International Affairs Project Manager

The City of Atlanta’s Office of International Affairs, a division of the Mayor’s Office, was established to create and maintain working relationships with the consular and diplomatic corps, bi-national chambers of commerce, international trade offices, organizations, and businesses. Our mission is to develop and maintain relationships with Atlanta’s international community, foreign partners, and global constituents to grow the city’s visibility outside our borders, to increase trade and commerce, attract international events, international air routes and ultimately create quality job opportunities for Atlantans and thriving communities.International Affairs Project Manager

The International Project Manager will assist team in executing inbound and outbound exchanges by providing market research and briefings, provide back office support to our operations, and lead the office’s marketing efforts via social media platforms, newsletters, and yearly reports. The International Project Manager will work closely with Atlanta-based academic institutions to expand their international activities, create and lead community-focused programming, and as needed, support the development of startup initiatives, such as the Atlanta International Startup Exchange.

Responsibilities will include:

Maintaining office inventory, contact lists, and updating databases.
Ensuring data logs on incoming and outbound delegations are up-to-date.
Provide support for incoming delegations and missions abroad.
Coordinate yearly newsletters and manage the office’s webpage and social media presence.
Coordinate with the Office of Communications and Channel 26 coverage on international events.
Production of our office’s collateral marketing material (brochures, presentations, flyers).
Support the preparation of briefs, remarks, support letters, and talking points for the Mayor and the International Affairs team.
Engage students and faculty members on international programing opportunities.
Attend international events on behalf of the office and support international organizations, trade offices, chambers in ongoing projects.
Support the coordination and implementation of the International Startup Exchanges.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in International Business, International Affairs, Business Administration, Modern Languages, Marketing, Political Science or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Minimum of 2 years related work experience.
Experience working in a fast paced and high-energy office environment.
Excellent communication, planning, writing, public speaking, and organizational skills.
Experience with social media, MS Office Suite, graphic design.
Strong cultural awareness; fluency in a second language is preferred.
Self-starter and ability to prioritize and multi-task efficiently.
Ability and willing to travel nationally and internationally.
