Under general supervision this position plans, directs, and coordinates all activities for the Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH) project Parent Health Ambassador program. Responsible for implementing the Parent Health Ambassador evidence-based curriculum. Coordinates and collaborate with DeKalb County School District staff, parents and community members to develop and enforce school health policies. Participates in local school wellness programs. Conducts assessments of student health needs and evaluates school health policies, activities, and program. Provides training and technical assistance to schools, students and parent/families. Develops monthly and annual program reports to share with stakeholders. (This is a grant funded position.)
Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience performing work related to area of assignment OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of experience performing work related to area of assignment OR Seven years of experience performing work related to area of assignment. Note: Some positions may require licensure.
In addition to the minimum qualifications, preference will be given to applicants with experience in Public Health program management, policy, and systems. Experience in developing environmental change strategies to improve the health status of the community, SPSS data analysis and reporting is also preferred.
