Richards’ Southern Fried

About:  Executive Chef Todd Richards will offer diners three flavor options of his Southern Fried Chicken: Classic, Hot and Richards’ HOT. Sourcing exclusively from Springer Mountain Farms, Richards will season the chicken with a blend of spices creating a “slow burn” heat versus the high impact heat generated by the use of conventional chili peppers. Keeping with his passion for all things Southern, the menu is crafted to serve hot chicken sandwiches and chicken plates along with seasonal sides to include hand cut potato wedges, stewed okra and tomatoes, broccoli rice and cheese casserole and a few other tempting selections.

What to get:  Get the classic!  Richard Chicken Sandwich Fried | pimento cheese, chow chow, lettuce, pickles with a side of jalapeno creamed corn

About:  The open-concept kitchen will offer you direct views of Varuni’s pizza makers and kitchen allowing engagement with the pizza artisans throughout the cooking process.  Their locally and straight from Italy sourced ingredients will blow you away with flavor.  This hand made pizza and home made lemoncello is a must when visiting the Market.

About:  Watchman’s Seafood & Spirits is the highly-anticipated restaurant behind the James Beard nominated team of Decatur’s Kimball House. Located next to Ticonderoga Club in Krog Street Market, Watchman’s serves up fresh, sustainable seafood and craft cocktails in a relaxed, breezy atmosphere.  They focus on Southern seafood with an emphasis on Gulf seafood with an ever changing menu.  If you have been to Kimball House and loved it (how could you not) this is a must visit!

About:  Superica features a colorful dining room where delicious Mexican and American foods are served….‘Tex-Mex’ cuisine. Here, authentic products of craftsmanship are displayed along with curios that may be obtained. The atmosphere of the Old West has been preserved for the enjoyment of all guests. Their huge bar and outdoor patio are perfect for cool summer nights or fall afternoon frivolities.  Live music can be found here some Thursday nights so grab a margarita and queso fundido and relax.

About:  The second Krog Street Market concept from Castellucci Hospitality Group (Bar Mercado, Cooks & Soldiers, etc.), Recess is a fine-casual food stall serving up “delicious food that makes you feel good.” Open daily for lunch, dinner and weekend breakfast, the menu focuses on mostly plant-based dishes including a variety of salads, grain bowls, sandwiches, toasts and vegetable sides, with a handful of optional meat, seafood and vegetable add-ons. Chef Victoria Shore oversees the menu development, which places an emphasis on lighter, healthier fare and offering guests the ability to customize their selection to accommodate dietary restrictions.
