Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms Welcomes New U.S. Citizens at Naturalization Ceremony
ATLANTA—In honor of Constitution Week, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms welcomed 45 new United States citizens at a naturalization ceremony held Thursday in the Atrium of City Hall.
“It is an honor to witness the American dream coming true for these courageous and aspiring citizens who we hope will choose Atlanta to start businesses, raise their families and contribute to our community,” said Mayor Bottoms.
In her remarks, the Mayor congratulated the newly naturalized citizens for their commitment and perseverance, acknowledging that the road to becoming a citizen is often difficult. To help those facing obstacles, the City maintains a strategic partnership with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services through Welcoming Atlanta that connects individuals to the resources needed to achieve this important milestone.
Also taking part in today’s event was Kevin Riddle, Atlanta Field Office Director for the USCIS.
